A world without michael jackson won't be the same!!!!

I was shocked and devestated when I saw a status update from a friend in facebook saying "MJ will be missed" on friday. Soon i googled mj, only to find out the sad news flash about mj passing away. Something, i never would have thought even in my wildest dreams on a friday morning at work.

Two days have gone by now, when iam writing this post. I am still at a state of shock with a world with out him. He was a global phenomenon. He is the best thing that could have happended to music, peace and man kind at large. An icon beyond comparison who lived for many noble causes. I just can't think enough of his contribution to society through music. Heal the world and the earth song are still songs that will bring tears in eyes. It is a testimony for his contribution that every part of the world is filled with emotions at this moment.

Rarely one would find a life lived that of like michael jackson's. From jackson 5 to to king of pop. Moreover, irrespective of the allegations and controversies surrounded his life, iam sure about one thing:

Michael Jackson without any doubt was the greatest entertainer of our lifetime!!

Terrorism is cowardly never heroic

I am stunned by the scale at which the mumbai terror attack took place. Shocked to understand the terrorists had ammunition to kill around 5000 innocent lives. As a nation which has always been doomed by terrorism, this latest attack has come as a another wake up call for India.

I never understood the stand of terrorism. If it is an act to create confusion among general public..then terrorism least achives it. It just makes people stonger mentally. If terrorism is a way to make public one's opinions, beliefs and griefs..Then think clearly, god has given every human being a god damn voice! why can't any one use it for the world to hear. If terrorism is due to suppression and other political motives, then one has to just look back at 'history'. How many times any kind of terrorist activity achieved anything. Bloodbath is never the answer.

Revenge or tit for tat as the cause, whatever it is...every school teacher would teach these things don't work to a tender aged kid. I don't think ill never find the answer. I dont want to as its not the pursuit of my life. But loss of innocent lives , it is a ridiculous world.

New Job: after finishing with melbourne university degree

This is more of a come back blog. The reason i didnt blog for long was partly due to my search for substantive topics to blog about. What better topic to make a come back on, than the topic of getting the first major job, after passing out of university. After finishing MBIT in december 2007, i continued to work in my part time job at salesforce.

There is a great deal of difference in getting into and making it big in a part time job compared full time one. I thought the only thing which is sure to happen is getting stuck with a particular part time job forever. (After some time even if you want to leave the part time job it wont let you go away) - that kind of feeling arose in me.

In my opinion the uni melb did reasonable in getting the big employers for career fairs. Most of them have a cut off date around march/april (as its the peak time)for graduate recruitment. By no means a uni melb degree is a easy red carpet walk to any big corporate which came for the career fairs. However, the name melbourne university equates to quality and value. I ve heard this from employers during recent interview processes i had.

After applying for close to one month i got the break through. I believed all i wanted was an inteview call, the rest was on my hand. The lessons i learnt were crucial but pretty obvious. I think as a graduate its important to apply for roles for which one has a better chance of getting a call, than for any random roles which looks fancy and attractive. Out of the various ones which I ve applied the one ive got into ended up as the closest match to my profile. Job hunting after graduating was an exciting challenge, because, i truly believed just as much as i would want to work wit a certain company, the company should also earn me. This attitude kept me going with my chin up. I shall keep the company name and the interview process for the next blog..but just to keep you guessing it is a conculting biggy.lucky me.:0
